Q: how thick is this airbed? whats it cost for shipping and how long does it take to ship? and is there assembly required?

A: The air bed 8" thick. Shipping is free to the USA. This is a made to order product so it can take about 7 days for delivery. There is no assembly required outside of inflating the air bed bladders.

Q: Can this air mattress be used as a replacement for a water mattress (Cal King) or does it need a box spring? If not, is there another air mattress you have that would work better?
